Dragon Plus / dragonX
DRAGON PLUS (Windows version) and dragonX (Linux version) are two extended and more powerful versions of DRAGON PROFESSIONAL, able to exploit the information collected in a script file and perform descriptor calculation in background mode. They have the great advantage that they can be used as an internal engine of your own software. Nevertheless, DRAGON PLUS can also be run in stand-alone mode when the script file is missing. To guide the user in the creation of the script file, DRAGON Wizard software is provided.
Exploiting the script file facilities, DRAGON PLUS and dragonX have some advantages in dealing with molecular descriptors strategies. These are:
a) selection of single descriptors, which is very useful when only the descriptors of a particular model are of interest;
b) selection of the only PCs of a descriptor block;
c) selection of molecule files stored in different folders;
d) possibility of working in remote mode by using molecule files, script and data files stored on a different PC.
When DRAGON PLUS and dragonX run in batch mode, the only difference is that variables cannot be excluded by setting a threshold for the pairwise correlation.
